All Student Juried Exhibition

My photo titled 'Sunny' (Marilyn) was chosen to be in the All Student Juried Exhibition in the Texas State University Gallery last month. The curator was from the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin ,Tx, and she selected about 50 pieces of artwork out of around 200. I was so excited since this was the first show I've entered into and hopefully there will be many more to come.

Serengetti Resort

I went with my boyfriend Matt and his family to the Serengetti Resort in Bulverde, TX about a month ago. We had the best time riding around in a golf cart feeding all of the exotic animals and relaxing at the beautiful resort. Clyde the camel was so funny and acted just like a little puppy and loved following us around. He was our favorite along with Jeffrey the giraffe who had the sweetest face!

The Creative Habit

I just recently have been inspired by a book that one of my professors suggested as a reading in our thesis photography class and wanted to share it. Twyla Tharp's 'The Creative Habit' is a book I think everyone should take the time to read. Mrs. Tharp is a dancer and choreographer who, through her book, exemplifies making creativity a habit. "Creativity is not just for artists." In order to be creative, you have to know how to prepare to be creative and put forth time and effort. Discipline and good work ethic is what will set any person apart from the rest of the crowd. If art is the bridge between what you see in your mind and what the world sees, then skill is how you build that bridge and that is the reason for exercises and practicing; to help you develop skill. I hope you consider reading more about it and enjoy it as much as I have. :)

Adam Gomez has been working on getting together a portfolio for his modeling agency for a little while now, and when he asked me to shoot his last two photos I got so excited. He is so full of energy and made the shoot super fun. These are a few of my favorites. Let me know which two you think he should choose to send in.

Brittany and Hank

My good friend Brittany and her adorable new maltipoo puppy, Hank, came to visit me in San Marcos this past week.  This little energetic dog just brightened my day, he made so many new friends and has the best personality ever! We took him for a walk in the park and he had a hay-day!
